Artist's Statement
Nokwanda and I lived on the same street after 1994. She was my young neighbor for many years during the initial decade of Post-Apartheid South Africa. She always waved at me and called my name as she grew up. Now we live in a democracy and she has grown into a beautiful young woman of partly Zulu descent.
